    La nuova sport utility Porsche si chiamerà Macan e non CaJun, come sembrava dovesse essere fino a poco tempo fa.

    La Casa di Zuffenhausen ha tra l'altro sottolineato che il nome non è stato scelto a caso ma deriva dalla parola tigre in lingua indonesiana e comunica potere, dinamica e fascino.

    «Il Macan riunisce tutte le caratteristiche di auto sportive con i vantaggi di un SUV ed è una Porsche vera e propria – ha dichiarato Bernhard Maier, Vice Presidente vendite e marketing di Porsche AG –. Il nome di una Porsche nuova deve adattarsi ai valori del  marchio che rappresenta».

    La sorella minore della Cayenne sarà prodotta in Germania, nello stabilimento di Lipsia – impianto attualmente in fase di espansione –, a partire dal 2013.

    Come nuova aggiunta alla gamma di modelli Porsche, la Macan rappresenta un pilastro fondamentale della strategia aziendale con la quale il costruttore di vetture sportive desidera espandere la propria clientela.
